display typography

gloucester mt extra condensed is a bold, eye-catching statement used at large sizes that was chosen to enforce the deck-of-cards style.

freight display pro in lowercase adds a delicate contrast to the tall, condensed gloucester. in use, there was also 100% added tracking to each line.

body typography

with as much content as this small densely packed wrapper has, a condensed font family would be needed. bahnschrift in various weights does just this task.

illustration

switzerland has no national animal, but if it did, one of the strongest contenders for the title would be the alpine ibex. a fine-line drawing of an animal mascot to complement the deck-of-cards look was chosen.

the brief

redesign a preexisting bar of chocolate, but elevate its wrapper design and "unwrapping experience," with the freedom to experiment visually and redesign the product's die line.

the redesign was inspired by playing card boxes and an accompanying fine line illustration with an animal mascot.
