welcome to "catalog"
a project to turn 30 items into products for a fictional sales catalog.

photography
The images of the seed packages themselves were done by me, but there needed to be supplementary visuals. all of the produce and flower photos were generated using firefly.

monogram
designed for the fictional company. The double b for "botanic boutique" with an accent of two leaves in reference to it being a gardening company. the monogram appeared only once, it seemed business cards would be a fitting way to bring it back.

the brief
30 items of a series were chosen to be used as products in a mock sales catalog. botanic boutique is a fictional gardening company, and this catalog sells seeds. the packages themselves, item descriptions, item numbers, country of origin, variety, and price, and plant category were the utilized data points.
the final catalog came out to be 32 pages, an 8 page increase from the first draft.

the system
The individual items, after undergoing numerous revisions would be shown with a big bold name, a less weighty variation label, the flag of the country of product origin, then be followed up by the item description, and lastly the price and item number.
typography
The final typographic system chosen with which to proceed with the catalog. bodoni italic was used to be an elegant contrast against the sans only body text. futura book weight was a suitable at small sizes, and featured as the typeface for body text. variations of avant garde gothic added texture and established the information hierarchy on the page.
